Thomas Chamberland
I began my construction career in 2002 with Vision Pacific, one of Whistler’s leading builders of luxury estate homes at the time.
That experience gave me a foundation in precise carpentry, demanding finishing work and close attention to detail. Those standards continue to shape the way we build at Newlines.
I founded Newlines Contracting at the end of 2006. As a carpenter and finisher by trade, I spent many years on the tools alongside our crew, building the experience that now guides my work managing projects and teams.
Construction background
I’ve always been drawn to the parts of a build that take more thought: intricate renovations, difficult finishing work and architectural concrete. That interest took me to Berkeley, California, for specialist training in precast concrete, and I opened a precast shop in Pemberton around 2010–2011.
Alongside the concrete work, Newlines continued building custom homes and undertaking detailed renovations. Today, I oversee our projects and teams, with direct involvement in planning, site decisions and the quality of the finished work.
Outside work
I moved to Whistler in 1999. For the first few years, I spent my winters skiing and filming professional athletes for ski movies. Snowmobiling became part of that life around 2000, and it’s still something I love.
Outside work, I ski, snowmobile, mountain bike and explore on my enduro dirt bike. I also enjoy motorcycle track riding and racing at Area 27, travelling, and seeing architecture in other parts of the world.
I value clear communication and long-term client relationships. Many of our past clients have become friends, and those relationships continue well beyond the completion of a project.
